In the Commercial branch, a Commercial Apprentice (CA) receives training to function as a multiskilled supervisor. In the Commercial branch, Apprentices (CA) in several categories receive instruction lasting less than 100 days. For example, instruction on the responsibilities of catering, commercial inspectors, parcel clerks, commodities clerks, and commercial clerks.

- A Station Master (SM) is in charge of running trains at a station. He/ She operates the signals and ensures that everything goes as per the rules laid out.
