The three stages of the SEBI Grade A Officer Exam are explained in detail below.
Phase I: online screening test with two papers for 100 points each.
Phase II: Exam conducted online with two papers for 100 marks each.
Phase III: Interview
All of the streams will share Papers I and II from the General Stream. With the exception of the language subject, every question in each phase will be a multiple-choice question (MCQ). SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern 2024
Phase 1 and Phase 2 are the two sections of the SEBI Grade A Exam. Below, we have provided an explanation of the SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern each phase.
SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern For Phase I
Paper I and Paper II are the two papers that make up the SEBI Grade A Phase I Exam. There will be multiple choice questions (MCQs) on both papers. While Paper 2’s exam format will change depending on the field, Paper 1 will be the same for all streams. Each paper is worth 100 points.

SEBI Grade A Phase I Marking Scheme
For each wrong answer, a quarter of the total marks allotted to the question will be deducted.Paper 1 must be submitted by a minimum of 30% (there cannot be a sectional cut-off).
To be selected for Phase II, candidates must achieve both the above-mentioned individual cut-offs in each paper and an overall 40% cut-off in the Phase I exam.
To be considered for a Phase II shortlist, candidates must achieve both the above-mentioned individual cut-offs in each paper and an aggregate cut-off mark of 40% in the Phase I exam.
SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern For Phase II
The SEBI Grade A Phase II Exam will be open to candidates who make the cut-off. There will be two papers in SEBI Grade A Phase 2: Paper I and Paper II, each worth 100 marks. The General Stream and Paper I will be shared by all. Candidates must earn higher grades in this round since they will be considered in the final selection.
Paper II will be held in numerous shifts for candidates who applied in different streams; the times of each shift will be specified in the hall pass.

Marking Scheme For SEBI Grade A Phase II
In Phase II, questions for Paper 2 will receive a negative marking equal to one-fourth of the total marks (with the exception of the IT stream, about which more information will be provided soon).
In Phase II, there will be a minimum 30% cut-off for Paper 1 and a minimum 40% cut-off for Paper 2.To be shortlisted for Phase III,
Candidates must achieve the distinct cut-offs in each of the aforementioned papers as well as an aggregate cut-off mark of 40% in the Phase II test (weighted 1/3rd for Paper 1 and 2/3rd for Paper 2).

SEBI Grade A Syllabus For Phase II – Paper I
All applicants who are taking the SEBI Grade A Phase II Exam share this. This is the English Descriptive Test, which evaluates candidates’ drafting abilities. This exam has a mark of 100 for 60 minutes.
English Writing Skill Syllabus
The English language paper will be structured to evaluate students’ writing abilities, grasp of the subject matter, and expression of ideas through precis, essay, and comprehension writing.
SEBI Grade-A Interview
- The candidates who make it through to the next round of the SEBI Grade A Officer Recruitment will be contacted to schedule interviews. Candidates that match the number of openings three times over will be shortlisted for Phase III, or the interview, in order of merit.
