SSC CHSL Skill Test

A Typing and Skill Test is included in Module II of Section III and is administered on the same day as Session II. This test assesses the typing and ability levels of candidates. It is qualifying in nature, and applicants have to follow the Commission’s website’s evaluation requirements. The accuracy of any errors made during the Skill Test will be computed to two decimal places. See below for comprehensive details on the post-wise skill test.

SSC CHSL Skill Test for DEO/DEO Grade A Posts

  • For DEO/DEO Grade A posts in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Ministry of Culture: Candidates’ proficiency in typing speed of 15000 key depressions per hour on a computer, will be evaluated based on accurately inputting words/key depressions from a provided passage. The duration of the test is 15 minutes, during which candidates will be given printed English material containing approximately 3700-4000 key depressions to be entered into the computer.
  • For DEO/DEO Grade A posts in other departments: The evaluation of a candidate’s “Data Entry Speed of 8,000 Key Depressions per hour on Computer” will be determined by accurately inputting words/key depressions from a provided passage. The test will last for 15 minutes, during which candidates will be provided with printed English material containing approximately 2000-2200 key depressions to be entered into the computer.

SSC CHSL Typing Test for LDC/JSA Post

During the application procedure, candidates have the option of selecting Hindi or English as the typing test language. If you choose Hindi, you should be able to type 30 words per minute (w.p.m. ), and if you choose English, you should be able to type 35.

For Hindi and English, these rates translate to about 9,000 and 10,500 key depressions per hour, respectively. Candidates who meet the requirements for a scribe will get five more minutes, making the total time for the Typing Test fifteen minutes.
